I was just wondering if there was anyone kicking about who had any experience with this scheme, or knows of any further information on it other than the description from the actual website which seems to be duplicated on numerous job sites?

I’m a current trainee and I would suggest that the most useful way to gain a real insight in to the scheme is to contact the scheme manager directly. She will be able to put you in contact with current trainees who would be happy to answer your questions and provide you with an honest account of what it’s really like.

Well people, i am one of the lucky few who got onto the scheme last September and it seemed like a golden ticket then and it still feels like a golden ticket now. It has been a brilliant experience all round and i can only speak highly of this scheme! I have been given real responsibility with defined goals and targets, they provide you with a platform to excel and really prove yourself and if you are up for the challenge (and it is a challenging time) and want real career progression with numerous options then this scheme is perfect.

Schoie, thanks for your reply.  Its great to hear from someone doing the scheme.  It sounds like the perfect job for me, as I'm so passionate about the NHS, & its good to hear it lives up to expectations.  I just hope they think I'm up to the challenge - I know that I am, so here's hoping I can put that across at interview!

LBH - that's a good tip, though I don't know if during all the fuss of the recruitment process would be the best time.  Maybe I'll wait & see how far I get, & if I'm successful do some digging before it kicks off :)
