Just thought given that we are all at what could be described as the corssroad of our lives, that some words of advice might be helpful. If you have some words of advice that you think might be helpful to me or anyone else, please share.

The Dalai Lama said:

“Live by the three R’s
Respect for self
Respect for others
Responsibility for all your actions
When you lose, don’t lose the lesson
Remember that not getting what you want in life can be a wonderful stroke of luck
Judge your success by what you had to give in order to get it
Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.”

Come On Come On!

The best advice I ever heard was on Bill & Ted's Excellent Advienture - "Be excellent to each other." Totally Bogus!

My words of wisdom are "growing old is inevitable, but growing up is optional". :) I love that phrase!

I love those words Kite. Swiss philosopher and poet Henri Frédéric Amiel said many a wise thing including the aforementioned "Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional"

A useful retort to any teacher should be his "Analysis kills spontaneity. The grain once ground into flour springs and germinates no more."

I adore this Pueblo verse: "Hold on to what is good, even if it is a handful of earth. And hold on to what you believe, even if it is a tree which stands by itself. Hold on to what you must do, even if it is a long way from here. Hold on to life, even when it is easier to let go. Hold on to my hand, even when I have gone away from you."

Gloria

Ralph W. Emerson said "Live well, learn plenty, laugh often, love much."

"You can communicate best when you first listen." Catherine Pulsifer (author of A Simple Life - OK I admit - I read self help books!)

Man, dis is well 'ard but I will try innit bruv. When I do ma work I am always thinking of dos words by Solomon Ibn Gabriol - "The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the third memory, the fourth practice, the fifth teaching others." He really is da man!

For dos who don't posses my knowledge tho maybe look into Menander who said "By associating with wise people you will become wise yourself!"  If you wanna hang out then let me know, maybe some of it will rub on you. Lucky people!

Fellani

Oscar Wilde "work is the curse of the drinking class"

I think life experience is just as important as work experience. Going travelling whilst your young is a great idea, as when you get into the job market you wont to/or have the opportunity to go.

If you take a year out to go travelling, you will still have the same qualifications, just more life experience.

Obviously, it depends on what jobs you apply for, because as mentioned, graduate schemes aren’t for everybody!

I've been reading many forums and I am enjoying reading it, so that's why I decided to join this forum. Actually, this is my first post in a forum and I'm still learning so that I could compose a good new thread forum. I also need your help and guidance so that I could join your topics, thoughts and opinions.. I hope you also understand some of my incorrect grammar. :D
