Ah, that age-old question. Which do you think is more important in your career, job satisfaction or money? I have to go with the slightly cliché option and say that for me, it's a bit of both. I don't think I would be able to put up with a high-paying job that I had no passion for, however.

I am a little bit of a bohemian and don't really believe that money is the be all and end all. I just think that it doesn't bring happiness whereas doing what you love can. Money can bring creature comforts, but they are things that you don't miss unless you have them anyway. I say job satisfaction far more important.

Job satisfaction: I am reminded of somebody who had an incredibly boring job and hated it - the money was fairly good but eventually he left as he just couldn't take the routine anymore. Goes to show that sometimes even good pay isn't enough to keep you in that sort of environment. Think about how much of your life you spend there! It has to be important that you're enjoying yourself.

Money all the way and retire early! ha ha, i think job satisfaction is very important, but no job is good all the time! People always seem to find the worst in work what ever job they have rather than look at the positives!

MONEY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE - JOB SATISFACTION IS IMPORTANT
MONEY PAYS THE BILLS....MONEY BUYS THE FOOD FOR THE FAMILY
MONEY BUYS THE CLOTHES AND SHOES...MONEY BUYS THE HOLIDAYS, CARS & ENTERTAINMENT
MONEY BUYS GOOD HEALTH AND GOOD HEALTHCARE

I think if your working in a job where you are happy then you will tend to do a lot better anyway so the money will come anyway. As long as you have enough to get by and your enjoying yourself is what counts! Possessions are overated!

money doesn't make you happy, it can buy creature comforts but won't guarantee a happy heart and smiley face. you have to make the decision which is more important to you.

Hello,
At the end of the day it is the work satisfaction that matters more than money, some time we do work for money but it is not for long term.

Money is important but then isn't your sanity too?! I think it is important to find the balance between the job of your dreams and one that pays well, and if you're lucky the two will eventually interlink.
As you continue to develop you're own personal skills, it will enable you to pursue a career that not only interests you, but also gives you the chance to explore other areas which may be just as interesting to you but pay a little more.
Compromising on a career which may not have been in your initial career direction does not mean you will not find another one which may be even more enjoyable in the long run!

Getting a balance of both would be great, but for me it's satisfaction. Job satisfaction would keep me motivated to work hard to progress in my career so I could get to the point where I would be paid handsomely (or at least well) for something I love doing :D
