I Love My Mum :)

I just got turned down for an MA course in Creative Writing.  They stated that my writing showed a lack of life experience.  Has anyone had a similar rejection from other courses?  I am not sure if it is an honest criticism or if they just didn't think I was right for the course and did not wish to say.

Writing can be a lot about life experiences, they say that someone's first novel says a lot about the person who wrote it.  I would say that this was not a standard rejection but an honest suggestion.

JK Rowling got over 100 rejections for Harry Potter for various reasons, rejection is all part of the creative industry (and any industry in fact)  Don't take it to heart, best of luck with the whole thing :)

In a field such as creative writing life experience is probably a common excuse for rejection and while they have a point remember more writers get rejection than acceptance - the post refering to JK Rowling a case in point. Keep plugging away, all feedback is a good thing. Fingers crossed some point down the line someone will say yes!
