I don't know if anyone else read the news this week about the girl who worked for the prison service suing as she lost her job due to her being too attractive.  I thought it was quite an intereting idea, that someone is persecuted for their appearance.  It is commonplace for people to judge a book by their cover, so do you think that looks can either help or hinder a career?

VERY dissappointing....VERY true.

I know of five VERY unattractive, unfaithful, aggressive, overweight women who are in well paid work without qualifications or experience.

They are VERY aggressive towards pretty females in the workplace and VERY aggressive about money, always bragging bout cars, paid holidays, clothes, jewellry, violence & men their unfaithful with, very often with children with somone else who suffers.

IS IT DISCRIMINATION OR BULLYING ? WHAT CAN BE DONE TO DEAL WITH IT ?

I Love My Mum :)

the case mentioned appeared not to be a simple as just looks, is what to do with how she presented herself in her environment.  i am not sure who won, but she did not lose her job, she left.  looks can assist and can hinder, but same can be said of intelligence, talent, skills...

Well recently there was a news story on Milkround about the most attractive people getting the jobs! Either way the discrimination is ridiculous. A very small proportion of jobs may require good looks but even those jobs can be accused of being shallow!
