I have been offered an Internship with through the company called CCRC Asia Ltd is it legitimate  and normal? I am quite young and have never had experience with an internship yet alone an international internship so is this normal?
This offer was given to me quite quickly having applied, and also having a telephone interview then the next day followed with an email of an offer and asking for my next steps to agree was to send scan of passport for visa processing and a deposit of £100 and then 2 weeks after to pay the rest of the fee for £1,295 saying this was to cover my accomodation in beijing and many other extra welcoming and and costs. I do not know if this is legitamate as I have tried to do a bit of research and background check and can not find much.
If anyone knows and has heard or had any experiences with them please let me know.
Thank you so much

Hi,

Milkround are happy with the authenticity of this organisation.  You should not be required to pay any money until you have spoken with them directly and they have confirmed with you that they have found you an appropriate position in Beijing.

To confirm, the candidate application process is:

-          Submit CV and cover letter

-          CRCC get in touch and host a short telephone interview

-          CRCC find position

-          CRCC confirm offer with start date etc

-          Candidate confirms acceptance and pays £100 deposit and then has a month or so to pay the remaining.

Hope this helps.

Dear All,

I am a consultant at CRCC Asia, and I thought it would be helpful to address the concerns of the post below. I can also  be contacted via email (l.beamont@crccasia.com) if anyone would like to ask me any questions directly.

It is true that we do have an efficient system in place which means that the timeframe between applying for a place on our Beijing Internship Program and finding out whether or not your application is successful is relatively short. This is for 2 reasons. The first is that we need to work efficiently because we get hundreds of applicants each week so we process everyone quickly or we would get disorganised very fast! Secondly, as we are in constant communication with our Beijing office, we are able to make decisions about whether or not applicants are successfull quickly. We think this is better than keeping people waiting unnecessarily. It also gives our interns more time to prepare for their trip.

The application process that you describe below sounds like our standard procedure to me. I will note it briefly here again in order to clarify:

-application form

-CV and cover letter submitted

-Telephone interview (approx 30-40 minutes

-Next day - find out whether or not you've been successful via email.

-You will then have 3 days to decide whether or not you'd like to accept the place. This 3 day limit is simply because we have so many applicants, we cannot keep them waiting unnecessarily. We will be flexible on this is applicants request this.

-If you decide to accept the place we offer you, the next step is to email us a scan of your passport photo page and pay £100 deposit to secure your place. This deposit is needed to that we know you are fully committed to our program.

-2 weeks later payment of the full balance is due unless a prior arrangement has been made.

If you have any further questions or require any more information, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Kind Regards,

Louise

William Baker

Hello everyone,

My name is William Baker, and I am an Administrative Associate for CRCC Asia. In addition to the information available above from my colleague Louise, I would like to take the time to make you all aware of a few changes to the Beijing Internship Program.

Firstly, we have had a number of inquiries to the name 'CCRC Asia', and would like to clarify that the correct name used to find our webpage is CRCC Asia. I have provided a link to the internships page of the website below to make things a little quicker.

http://www.crccasia.com/China-internships.html

Secondly, once you have accepted your place onto the Program, the deposit fee to be paid to ensure your place is £250, as opposed to £100. This has been raised to include a number of additional administrative duties that we perform on behalf on our interns, in order to ensure that the process is stress free from start to finish.

Further to the information regarding the speed of application processing, high quality applicants can look forward to hearing from us within three days. At times this can be reduced to as little as 24 hours. Following this, the regular interviewing process will resume as described above.

If anyone would like to contact me regarding any part of our Internship Program, my personal email address is w.baker@crccasia.com. I would be more than happy to answer any questions. If you would like a call back, please email and leave a telephone number.

Also, if anyone would like to visit us at our London office, the address is listed on the website, we'd be happy to meet you.

Best wishes,

William Baker.

CRCC Asia

Good Afternoon all,

CRCC Asia have been successfully sending students and recent graduates from all over the world to China for the past 5 years.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our internships and as proof, we would like to direct you to the testimonials page of our website, http://www.crccasia.com/internships/life-beijing-intern/testimonials. On this page, you will read about the experiences of dozens of previous participants who have greatly enhanced their resumes by gaining international work experience by interning in China through CRCC Asia.

Our recent coverage in the Wall Street Journal (http://on.wsj.com/iLodOY) should prove the quality of our organization. Several of our interns have successfully gone on to work for top international firms, or even have been hired by the company we initially placed them in. This alone speaks volumes about the type of internships that our participants are engaging in.

Finally, please be aware that the previous poster has used exactly the same post in a different forum before, and we are currently investigating their agenda of unsettling those interested in our Internship Programs.

If you are still unsure, or have any queries at all, please feel free to contact us directly and ask any questions you may wish to find out further. Our contact details can be found on our website - http:/www.crccasia.com.
